Titanic Quarter Maritime Destination
Titanic Quarter (TQ), is not only one of Europe’s largest and most exciting waterfront developments, but was once home to the city’s world-leading shipbuilding industry and the RMS Titanic. The 185-acre brownfield site is being regenerated by Titanic Quarter Limited into a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood, comprising of historic maritime landmarks, visitor attractions, film studios, education facilities, office buildings and apartments. TQ is also home to the five star visitor attraction, Titanic Belfast which has had a remarkable impact on the world, already attracting an overwhelming 2 million visitors from 145 countries and creating a new, exciting and thriving riverside maritime destination. TFL’s aim is to create opportunities to position TQ as a shared space by developing initiatives which animate and drive footfall and connecting everyone in Belfast to Titanic’s narrative – human endeavour, pride, inspiration and innovation. One of the key outputs was the establishment of the ‘TQ Destination Forum’. Containing representatives from the heritage sites, visitor attractions, venues, activity providers, community and education interests, and visitor services across the quarter, alongside the property owners and developers. The aim of this collective is to provide a rich cultural and educational experience that stimulates people of all ages and backgrounds to explore Belfast’s Maritime heritage and be excited by it.
