Hutchison family make a donation to Titanic Foundation

On Friday the Hutchison family visited Titanic Belfast, and made a donation to the Foundation in memory of their husband and father Malcolm, who passed away last year.

Malcolm’s son Keith contacted the Foundation regarding his father’s legacy:

“Titanic and it’s fascinating history was something which Malcolm held an encyclopaedic knowledge of.  In the weeks prior to his sudden death in October 2012, Malcolm was planning a visit to Titanic Belfast and since he was unable to make this trip, we wanted to make this trip on his behalf and try to ensure that part of his legacy helps to support something which he was passionate about.  It would have meant a great deal to Malcolm to know that this donation will help to continue to tell the story of Titanic.”

The Hutchison family visited Titanic Belfast, and had a private tour of the Drawing Offices, also viewing the former Belfast City Council Titanic Exhibition currently in Drawing Office 2.  They presented a cheque to Titanic Foundation CEO Kerrie Sweeney, and their donation will go towards the purchase of antiquities to be displayed in Titanic Belfast as part of the story of the RMS Titanic.
