Looking for Titanic Memories
This March, Titanic Belfast, the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction is celebrating its fifth birthday. To mark the occasion, the attraction is calling for your momentous moments to create its own Titanic show-reel.
Titanic Belfast, which is located on the exact spot where the RMS Titanic was built and launched, is calling for guests’, alongside staffs’, favourite memories to be the stars of the show.
If you are one of the nearly three and half million people from around the world who have already visited Titanic Belfast since it opened in 2012, joining VIP guests such as Her Majesty The Queen, former US Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, TITANIC director James Cameron, the discoverer of Titanic, Dr Robert Ballard, as well as celebrities including Adele and Michael Bublé, it wants to hear from you.
Tim Husbands MBE, Chief Executive of Titanic Belfast, commented, “The RMS Titanic is famous worldwide for many things, including the movie, and often holds many memories for people. To celebrate our birthday, we want to make our own movie, encapsulating all our best moments over the years. From unique birthday celebrations, iconic engagements to ancestral discovery or family fun – we want to hear from you.”
“To help make our birthday wish come true, send us a photograph of you here at Titanic Belfast and tell us about your favourite memory by 17th March 2017 via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, by post to Titanic Belfast, 1 Olympic Way, Queens Road, Belfast, BT3 9EP, Northern Ireland or share your entry via social media, tagging @TitanicBelfast and using #TBTurns5.”
The best movie-magic moments will be selected to star in our birthday show-reel, alongside our staff’s favourite moments. The short film will be premiered during Titanic Belfast’s Birthday celebrations on the 31st March and will also be unveiled online to mark the occasion.
Described by The Guardian as “an inspiring testament to the Titanic and the city that built it”, Titanic Belfast tells the story of the Titanic, from her conception in the early 1900s, through her construction and launch, to her famous maiden voyage and tragic end.
It was recently crowned ‘World’s Leading Tourist Attraction’ at the prestigious World Travel Awards in the Maldives, with over 1 million votes cast from over 216 countries beating off stiff competition from eight global finalists, including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the Las Vegas Strip, USA, Machu Picchu, Peru and Guinness Storehouse, Ireland. It is the first time an attraction from Ireland has won this prestigious accolade. For more information, visit www.titanicbelfast.com.
