Dr Sally Montgomery OBE
Dr Montgomery is currently client representative for Aberdeen Science Centre assisting with their major redevelopment. Sally is also a Commissioner for Irish Lights and sits on the Historic Monument Council.
She was formally an independent consultant advising government entities, public and commercial companies on starting up visitor attractions especially in the area of science centres. Dr Montgomery was the founding Chief Executive of W5 until July 2012. She was seconded from her Post of Head of Education at the Ulster Museum to be the Project Director to establish W5 in 1998.
Sally assisted the Foundation with the research and interpretation for the Great Light and Belfast Buoys. Whilst at W5 Dr Montgomery researched, wrote and developed an exhibition; Titanic: Designed and Built in Belfast, for Belfast City Hall’s Titanic Festivals in 2006 and 2007. In 2012 Dr Montgomery engaged 2000 primary school pupils to explore the story of RMS Titanic and developed a comic book to tell the story of the Titanic Time Traveller. Dr Montgomery is currently a Board Member of NITB.
